In 2004, the Faculty of Education rolled out the Educational Leadership MEd program accepting 22 carefully screened students. “We have some fairly tight criteria that require successful teacher background,” says Aitken. “It sets the tone for a successful program.”

The FNMI Master of Education Curriculum Leadership program is slated to begin in January 2009 and will be offered jointly by the Faculty of Education in collaboration with Mi’Kai’sto Red Crow Community College. It is one of a kind in Canada.
