With a commitment to creating safe spaces and amplifying women's voices, we invite you to learn more about her journey in the Q&A below.

I currently work in domestic violence but trust me, the cycle of abuse never ends. I want to add my voice to all the organizations seeking better lives for women.

What is the most important lesson you learned during your time at ULethbridge?

One of my memorable ULethbridge experience was during COVID-19. Online school was stressful. But I still pushed through—and here I am graduating.

What advice would you like to give those who are about to begin their journey at ULethbridge?

The best advice I can give to anyone starting their education at ULethbridge is to never give up on their goals. Identify your passion and let it lead your path. As an international student, one of the things I know is the journey gets rough. Find your strength along the way, and know that the Hope of Glory will crown you.

What have you gained from the liberal education experience at ULethbridge?

ULethbridge’s liberal education creates a very dynamic academic atmosphere where you get to learn from people in other faculties. It empowers you to want to know more about what other people are studying but in the end focusing on one goal but different directions.

The personal is political. As individuals, our own biases influence our daily lives. This can not be stressed enough.

Have you participated in experiential or work-integrated learning?

I had the opportunity to work on an independent study on "Politics of Location; Critical Geographies of the Black community in Lethbridge." I realized that community building, cultural diversity and education can go a long way in creating inclusive spaces for diversity. The dichotomy of acceptance or rejection is real.

Did you receive scholarships and awards?

Yes, I received the International Entrance Award and Students’ Union Quality Initiatives Scholarship. They came at a point in need and I am grateful to all the funders who support ULethbridge.

Is there someone specific who had an important influence on your ULethbridge experience?

• Dr. Carol Williams
• Dr. Caroline Hodes
• Dr. Glenda Bonifacio
Dr. Julie Young
I'm glad to have had these knowledgeable professionals in my educational journey. It was awesome being in their classes and learning directly from their wisdom.

What are your hopes/plans for the future?

As a women and gender studies graduate, I look forward to working in sexual violence education, supporting immigrant women and all women in general to create a safe space.
