My name is… Alicia Barbieri

I am studying… Art Studio

I chose uLethbridge because… After I started my degree at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, I realized I had a passion for working with children so I came here for the education program. It was also nice being closer to home (Calgary).

The thing I’ve enjoyed most about uLethbridge has been… The people. I have met a lot of amazing friends, and people with the same interests. I have also been able to volunteer at art galleries around town and enjoyed other opportunities I wouldn’t have had if I were living in a larger city.

My uLethbridge professors have… Shaped the way I view the world, especially regarding art. They have made me realize it is possible to have a career as an artist and are guiding me in developing skills to make that happen.

If I could give future students one piece of advice… I would tell them to get involved as much as you can. Making connections during school can help just as much as a degree and open up a lot of opportunities.
