Why did you choose ULethbridge?

I live on a farm outside of Coalhurst, Alta, so choosing ULethbridge allowed me to focus on my studies without worrying about living expenses.

Did you know what you wanted to study before you came to ULethbridge?

I initially chose to study math largely because that was one of my best subjects in high school. As I've studied mathematics at ULethbridge my interest in the subject has grown considerably, and I have also added computer science as a second major to complement my mathematical studies.

Please tell us a bit about your experiential or work-integrated learning.

I worked with Dr. Hadi Kharaghani for two summers in his research program. This experience gave me the opportunity to directly participate in mathematical research. My experiences over these summers will prove invaluable whether I choose to further my mathematical education once I graduate, or if I choose to pursue a different path.

What is your most memorable ULethbridge experience so far?

As part of a summer research program, I attended a linear algebra conference in Regina, Sask. The conference was amazing and the talks were interesting, but the most memorable part was trying to navigate back to the hotel while a massive rainstorm flooded the roads.

What are your hopes/plans for the future?

The two options I'm considering are to further my education in mathematics by going to graduate school, or to find a job which will allow me to use and grow the skills I've developed over the course of my degree.
