Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I was born in Basingstoke, England. After high school, I went to the University of London and completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Aeronautical Engineering. I then worked in the aerospace industry for 12 years — working in structural design on Airbus and Boeing aircraft. In 2009 I decided it was time for a change and came to Lethbridge to try my other passion — teaching. My sister and brother-in-law were already working at ULethbridge so it was a natural choice once I knew how good the education program was here. After my degree I was unable to get a teaching job immediately due to some immigration paperwork issues and ended up taking a job in Facilities.

How long have you been at ULethbridge and what do you do here?
I started at ULethbridge in the Facilities Project Management Office working on the construction of Mount Blakiston House. I enjoyed this so much I decided to stay in project management and worked on several other projects including the Destination Project. I then moved into the operations group, becoming the manager of Building Systems in 2019. In January 2022, I added the electrical department to my role when the previous manager retired.

What's the best part of your job?
I enjoy working with the talented journeymen and technicians on my team to come up with solutions to problems. No day is the same and we have a great team of staff that do their best every day to keep the lights on and the buildings warm.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Outside of work I love playing hockey (ice and roller), skiing and spending time with my wife and two children.
