A dual degree in business and health sciences poised Isabella Sasges for a career in occupational health and safety
Isabella Sasges’s desire to blend her interests in both business and health care was realized in uLethbridge's unique Health Sciences and Bachelor of Management dual degree program.
"I was originally thinking about nursing but wanted to explore more areas of health care," she said. "I wanted the option to do both programs together at the same time and not have to attend different institutions.”
In her fifth and final year, Isabella attended uLethbridge's Calgary Campus, which allowed her to complete course work alongside working days in a co-op placement.
"The experiences I had were great, and the opportunity to manage school outside of work – to be able to work and also have that classroom setting for school in the evenings – helped keep me focused on my goals. This flexibility allowed me to move ahead quickly and gain valuable work experience through 16-months of co-op placements in occupational health and safety."
Isabella’s best advice for those thinking about enrolling in degree programs with uLethbridge is to talk to current students and ask candid questions about their student experience.
"It's been great for me, and I'm so glad I chose the University of Lethbridge!"
