Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I was born in Banff before being swiftly moved to B.C. at a young age. I graduated from high school in Victoria and briefly attended UVIC before moving to Lethbridge to complete my BA in English. I then moved on to Carleton University in Ottawa where I completed a Master’s in Music and Culture, but more importantly, met my wife, Shaina. We spent the better part of the past decade in Vancouver where I worked in the Registrar’s Office at Douglas College and for MD Admissions at UBC. The pandemic brought quite a few moves for my family and myself from Vancouver to Edmonton, Edmonton to Victoria, Victoria to Vancouver and finally Vancouver to Lethbridge when I joined the SEARS team! Oh, and in the middle of all those moves we also welcomed our first child, Quinn.

How long have you been at ULethbridge and what do you do here?
I have been at the University since late November 2021, just about 10.5 years after my convocation. I am the manager, Admissions & Transfer. In this role, I help coordinate the Admissions & Transfer team that provides direct support to current and future ULethbridge students, while maintaining current and future application cycles at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

What's the best part of your job?
The best part of the job is helping students begin or continue their academic journey at the University. Students arrive at ULethbridge in a multitude of life’s stages, and it is exciting to be able to help welcome them to the University and to help some realize academic goals they may not have known were attainable. As an alum, I hold very fond memories of my time as a student, and I look forward to helping incoming classes share in that opportunity. I am also very lucky to get to work with the Admissions & Transfer team, and all our colleagues in SEARS and Student Affairs.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
While it may not be a popular answer in Alberta, I am an avid Toronto Maple Leafs' fan. Despite year after year of crushing defeat, I am excited to foist this fandom upon my daughter. My primary interests include coffee in both hot or cold varieties and chasing a toddler around the house to see what they’re attempting to put in their mouth.
