Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I grew up in Lethbridge and have been around campus for most of my life! From a young age, I studied classical guitar at the university up until the first year of my undergrad. After high school, I took some time off and backpacked around Europe, Australia and New Zealand. I went on to complete a diploma in Communication Arts at Lethbridge College and a degree in Communication Studies at Athabasca University. During this time, I was lucky to meet my wife Megan, who studied Public Health (BHSc ‘12), at ULethbridge. We are celebrating our eighth wedding anniversary this year and we welcomed our daughter in 2022. I began my career at the University as an International Recruitment Officer in 2015. It was a great opportunity to represent the University of Lethbridge and meet with prospective students abroad. That position led me to my current role as an Academic Advisor.

How long have you been at ULethbridge and what do you do here?

I am an Academic Advisor at the Dhillon School of Business (DSB) and this is my 10th year at the university. I support DSB students along their academic journey in many ways, including program planning, helping to identify opportunities to enhance the student experience, providing referrals and strategies, and education on academic policies and procedures. Our office also provides academic support to the DSB in addition to our advising roles.

What's the best part of your job?

I have an amazing team and thoroughly enjoy helping students reach their goals.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, being a husband and dad is very rewarding! We like to get outside on our bikes, take trips to the mountains, and spend time with our family in Lethbridge, Regina and Calgary. Travelling, music and golf are some of my favourite hobbies.
