Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I’m a Blue Ridge, Alberta girl.  I attended Keyano College in Fort McMurray, where I worked as a Resident Assistant and where my interest in supporting students began.

Over the years, I lived in Sudbury and Lloydminster before happily settling in Lethbridge, where the winters are far kinder than those in northern Alberta or Ontario.

How long have you been at ULethbridge, and what do you do here?

I’ve been with the University for approximately 11 years. As a Curriculum & Scheduling Specialist, I help facilitate the creation of the online timetable, course catalogue and classroom schedules.

I work collaboratively with academic and administrative leaders across campus to build a timetable that supports undergraduate and graduate students, instructors and academic programs. My role involves a lot of coordination, communication and creative problem solving, balancing competing priorities, working within constraints and making sure all the pieces fit together. In many ways, it’s like solving a very large, ever-changing puzzle, and I genuinely enjoy the challenge.

What's the best part of your job?

The best part of my job is the campus community. I enjoy collaborating across faculties and departments and contributing to the student experience behind the scenes. I love the puzzle aspect — juggling needs, timelines and constraints to make everything come together each term keeps things interesting and rewarding.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Away from the U, my newest hobby is writing a murder mystery novel … which is another form of puzzle building. I also love to paint, dance, bake, and I lead two yoga classes weekly, including Wednesdays at lunchtime here at ULethbridge for students, staff and community members who are seeking some midday stretching and relaxation. Come say hello and strike a pose.
