Q&A with Fall 2022 graduate Aaron Charchuk
Take risks and try to get out of your comfort zone as much as possible. The more challenges you face, the more you grow and learn, even if you fail.
Aaron Charchuk (BSc '22) graduates this fall with a Bachelor of Science majoring in environmental science. At ULethbridge, scholarships helped Aaron spend less time worrying about his budget and more time on his studies and extracurriculars.
What is your most memorable ULethbridge experience?
Living in dorms in my first year, going to Pronghorn games, and playing baseball for PBA.
What is the most important lesson you learned during your time at ULethbridge?
You get what you work for.
Is there someone specific who had an important influence on your ULethbridge experience?
My parents had a huge influence on my experience since they encouraged me to go to ULethbridge, and they gave me the confidence to be independent and face different challenges.
Did you receive scholarships and awards? If so, please tell us a bit about how they helped you throughout your studies.
Yes. The various scholarships I received helped cover tuition and the costs of living. This went a long way since I was able to spend less time worrying about my budget and more time on my studies and extracurriculars.
What are your hopes/plans for the future?
I plan on receiving my professional biology designation from ASPB after a few more years of work experience. I hope to be a contributing member of my environmental team and grow as a professional and as a person.
What advice would you give to those about to begin their journey at ULethbridge?
Take risks and try to get out of your comfort zone as much as possible. The more challenges you face, the more you grow and learn, even if you fail.
Congratulations, Aaron!
