World Teachers' Day: Teaching is an investment of time and sacrifice
World Teachers’ Day is held annually on October 5 to celebrate teachers all around the world. The Faculty of Education at the University of Lethbridge takes this opportunity to offer our profound appreciation for teachers and their ongoing commitment to children and youth. Teaching is an investment of time and sacrifice. Teaching is a manifestation of care. Teaching advances a fair and inclusive society. More than ever, we need teachers to guide our children who are facing an uncertain and ever-changing world. Teachers are “the grace of great things” (Rilke). To all the teachers we work with day in and day out as mentors, supervisors, and coaches, your unwavering support for our student teachers is deeply appreciated. Thank-you all for everything you do for us, our communities, and our world.
