Drawn to the University of Lethbridge by its outstanding neuroscience program and hands-on research opportunities, Devanshi Sharma initially aspired to attend medical school. However, through engaging in independent studies, she discovered her true passion for research.

Why did you choose ULethbridge?
I transferred to ULethbridge because of the incredible neuroscience program, and the hands-on research opportunities it offers the students. When I first started university, I wanted to go to medical school. But through independent studies I realized my passion for research. I now want to get a PhD, and do clinical research.
What is your most memorable ULethbridge experience so far?
My most memorable ULethbridge experience was taking part in independent studies. It allowed me to explore my passion for research. I really enjoy how personal and direct the experience is.
Is there anyone who has had an important influence on your ULethbridge experience?
The Gibb Lab has had an important influence on my ULethbridge experience; especially Dr. Robbin Gibb, Heather Loewen, and Erin Cantwell. Their guidance and support have truly shaped my university journey in the most profound way. I am grateful for the positive and collaborative environment within the lab has made every day a rewarding and enriching experience.

What are your hopes/plans for the future?
My plans for the future are to continue doing research in my undergraduate degree. I would like to pursue a PhD, and potentially go to medical school.

Make sure to prioritize your well-being and be kind to yourself. I would also suggest seeking help from your professors and TA's who can offer you valuable guidance.
